No. Dell will cover the cost of home pickup, shipping, and recycling of your old equipment.
If you are using our program for IT Equipment you may recycle up to 20 Kg per box. If you are returning both your PC and Monitor, they will need to be boxed separately. This service does not cover products that weigh more than 20Kgs. For mobile devices you may recycle one unit.
Recycled computer hardware and/or mobile devices are delivered to Dell's recycling partners, who responsibly recycle this equipment through an economical and environmentally sound process. Typically the hardware and mobiles are de-manufactured, although some usable parts may be removed for re-use. The de-manufactured material is sorted by commodity type (such as steel, aluminum, copper, plastic, etc.) and then either re-used to make new products or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Not only does this approach help protect our environment by reducing the amount of material that goes to landfills, it may also minimize the need for raw materials in product manufacturing. Check out Dell’s closed loop process to learn more about how we are reusing plastics to make new computer parts.
Before you ship your product, you will need to back up any necessary data and remove all data from your equipment. You are responsible for the deletion of all data that may be contained with the computer hardware & mobile device.
